The Old Cemetery Working Bee
Members of the South East Family History Group recently conducted a tour of the old section of the Millicent cemetery with a view to levelling a few graves and positioning a number of head stones that have fallen over. It won’t involve any heavy lifting, mainly filling in dips in the graves. We will only be working on a few sites at a time.
Working bees are scheduled for the first Sunday every month at 9am. Please contact the group if you are interested in helping.
Why join a history group?
There are many benefits to joining a family history group, either in the area you live or where your research interests lie. Family History groups such as ours provides access to local records, national and international information, along with advice and assistance in how to research your family history. Most people don't know where to start but a few quick hints to get you on the right track and a demonstration of how to find information is usually all that is needed to get enthused.
Our modest membership rates gives you free access to all physical and digital records we hold, whose titles you can search in the catalogue. Membership also allows you to learn from the free courses we run, join us on excursions, attend general meetings with interesting speakers, receive the quarterly newsletter and monthly eNews. Included in membership is two free hours of research carried out on your behalf each year.
You will find membership information and forms on our Members Page. We look forward to seeing you in person or hearing from you, if you live out of our region.
Would you like someone to research for you due to limited time, funds, resources or skills? The South East Family History Group can research family trees at reasonable rates. Small and large queries welcomed. Our members receive two hours free research per year.
