Stones, Plaques or Memorials
Foundation stones, commemorative plaques and memorials to people and historical events are prolific in towns, cities, on roads, hidden in bush and forest or alongside water ways. They represent a piece of history, but are rarely catalogued. The exception is probably those memorials to the brave who fought or lost their lives in wars and conflicts. This is the beginning of a catalogue of stones, plaques and memorials ‘found’ by the researcher, Gwen Waters. It will be added to each quarter.
They are described by:
Place (where it can be found)
Inscription (transcribed)
Surname or Organisation (those names mentioned in the inscription or information)
If you would like a photo of the memorial place and plaque please email the
Web Page Administrator.
